The reality of families in our community being able to send their child(ren) to St. Thomas the Apostle School depends on the support of alumni, friends, supporters and businesses. Over 85% of our 300 students qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program and over 90% of our students receive some form of financial assistance to attend our school. Our neighborhood id one of the most densely populated communities west of the Mississippi River and the average income for a family four is just over $22,000.
The yearly tuition for 2011-2012 is $3800 per student and the actual cost to educate a student is $4300. A vast majority of our families can afford to pay about $1500 per year. We depend on outside scholarship support to bridge the difference. Without scholarship support, a majority of our students could not afford to attend our school. Your support is an investment in the education of a child today and an investment in a leader of tomorrow.
